Testing Requirements:

Students are required to earn at least a 70% or higher on all in-class tests, quizzes, and required assignment work.

Students are required to earn at least a 60% or higher on all final exams to receive credit in the course. A student who does not meet this requirement will receive an F for the course.

In addition to in-class tests, students are required to complete the following standardized assessments.

  • MAP assessments are taken three times a year (October, January, and May) and are used to measure students' growth in Reading and Math. Students may take these assessments at home.
  • Kansas State Assessments are typically taken in April, and the assessments students are required to complete vary by grade level. Students are required to complete these assessments at the BLVS office.
  • Reading Screening assessments are for all K-5 Students and are performed three times a year. These assessments are done by appointment and typically take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Cheating:

If there is evidence that a student has cheated on their exam or course requirement, the exam or course requirement will be declared invalid, and the student will receive an F for the course on their permanent transcript.

Plagiarism:

BLVS takes plagiarism very seriously. Each teacher has their own plagiarism policy and we will enforce it to the fullest. If a student is found to have plagiarized an assignment, that student will be required to resubmit the revised assignment, reaching the required 70% grade, with consequences of reduced or no credit.

Computer Usage:

Student use of communication technologies is a privilege intended for the benefit of all students. The expectations and guidelines laid out in our District Technology Acceptable Use Policy are created to keep our students safe and create digital citizens who understand the guidelines and operating procedures of our District. Misuse of our computers and online system could result in the student being removed from BLVS.
